I went to Best Buy after school today to buy my new laptop (you know, the red Gateway one?) only to be disppointed because there were NONE in stock!
"Come back tomorrow morning and we'll have some. They're on the truck right now and they have to be unloaded."
Well, thanks, after I stood there for nearly 20 mnutes waiting to be helped because the ONE person in the computers section was already with a customer. While 5 other workers stood in the cellphone/mp3 section talking to each other. Best Buy always, always, always let's me down. I can't think of a time when I walked out of Best Buy with a smile on my face. Honestly, I always walk out in a worser mood than I was in when I walked in.
We drove over to Future Shop and I bought one there. The guy who helped me there told me Gateway isn't really the best kind to get anyways because it's not a main name in laptops or something and is owned by Acer.
Whatever, he told me Toshiba and HP are the main names and I should stick to those.
I decided to get the HP.
HP 15.4" Pavilion Intel Pentium Dual-Core T3400 2.16GHz Laptop (DV5-1215CA).
320GB of hard drive. 4 GB of RAM.
The only thing I really wished it had was an integrated microphone but I have one you plug in, so I guess it's fine. The review from the website lied! It DOES have a built-in microphone!
Overall, it's a really good laptop. It's quick, doesn't heat up too quickly, lots of storage and it's nice looking!
I found another HP one online that has a 16" screen and is $50 cheaper. So I was comparing the two.
The one I bought has an IR Receiever (what is that?), Expresscard 34&54 input (what is that??), doesn't have integrated bluetooth (would I ever use bluetooth? I don't know!), and has more video memory (sure?).
I honestly don't know which one would be better, but I'll just stick with mine. Maybe that IR Receiver will come in handy?
^ That's my laptop. I can pick it up tomorrow at noon. But I'll be in school.. and then work after school. So my dad will pick it up for me and I'll have a brand spankin' new laptop ready to use when I get home from work! WOOHOO!
This one is better looking than the red one, I think, anyways. And I think it has a bit more features. Future Shop's website is much better than Best Buy's too because it shows you everything little thing and Best Buy just shows the main features.
So now I'm broke. And I owe the bank a load of money. Stupid 19% interest (yeah, 19 flippin percent! RIP OFF).
Well, that was a lame and unexciting blog entry. So um, here:
