Nothin' to do and no where to go
I feel very sedated lately.
Before you jump to any conclusions, I can promise you I'm not on drugs, I've never done drugs and I don't plan to ever take any drugs.
I have a new record of hours worked, although it wasn't completely consecutive so I'm not sure if it really takes place of my previous record of 11 1/2 hours.
I worked midnights on Friday (into Saturday). The shift was midnight-6am but of course I didn't check what time the shift actually started so I went in thinking I started at 11pm and I told my dad I was finished at 7am. So I ended up working an 8-hour midnights shift instead of 6.
My dad picked me up at 7am, I went home, ignored the cat puke on the kitchen floor (I know, 'how disgusting', but Boo is sick and I just worked an 8-hour shift while not getting the required amount of break time) and I went to bed.
My mom woke me up at 10am so I can go back in and work a 6-hour shift no one would take for me.
Even though I made over $120, I will never again work shifts that require me to stay up 24 hours+, I feel sort of sick and now look at the time! It's after 3am and I'm hardly tired at all.
I've watched 6% of my movie list. I also have Fast Times rented till Tuesday so I'll probably watch it tomorrow (or... today, technically).
I've also watched several movies that are not on my list. Tonight I watched Mars Attacks! I'm not really a Tim Burton fan, so needless to say, I thought this movie was creepy and weird. Not really my taste. Dark comedies just usually are not my cup of tea.
I watched a movie the other night called Taiyou no Uta. Yes, it's a Japanese movie, but please don't judge it right away - IT IS NOT ANIME.
People ask me what I did last night and I say "I watched this really good Japanese movie" and right away they judge me as someone who is into anime (not that anything is wrong with anime, it's just.. not my thing..). Anyways, when I told them I watched a Japanese movie, they made this face like "...you're turning into an anime freak?"
Don't judge me. Thanks.
This movie, to me anyways, it like the Japanese version of A Walk To Remember. It's so cute, and I absolutely love the main song in it called Goodbye Days. I actually listened to the song first on youtube and the comments said the song is from this movie. I watched the movie on youtube (with English subtitles, of course. The only thing I can say that is relatively close to Japanese is 'domo origotto mr. roboto') and this is actually the first Japanese movie I've seen. Then I realized, I haven't really seen very many foreign films at all. I've seen plenty of American films but they're not really considered foreign even though they are. I've also seen a few Australian films and I've seen Run Lola Run which is a German film. On my list of movies to watch, I have a German film too, Sommersturm.
I'm going to make a mental note to watch more foreign movies. English subtitles don't bother me too much.
A Walk To Remember and Taiyou no Uta actually have a lot in common. They both have pop stars as the starring roles (Mandy Moore - American pop star, Yui - Japanese pop star). Both girls in the movies sing and their songs are played at the end of the movie (AWTR - Cry, TnU - Goodbye Days). Without giving away too much about the movie, both girls in the movies are pale for reasons that are obvious after watching.
I recommend watching Taiyou no Uta, if you don't mind subtitles. It's a really cute (and utterly sad!!) movie. You can find it on youtube.
