EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
Today I was awarded Employee Of The Month! I've been working there 2 and a half years putting up with grumpy customers, creepy old men customers, screaming children and plenty of coffee/food vat burns. FINALLY Employee Of The Month, and I right?
So I came into work today and there was CAKE! A cake with vanilla icing and "Congratulations Jessica!" written in rainbow coloured icings with green and yellow and blue icing balloons! There was enough for everyone and their mother (literally).
Then I was handed 20 'free meal coupons', a new McDonald's watch AND an Employee Of The Month pin! Along with all that was a card signed by all the managers who each wrote something they appreciate about me :)
Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, I heard a marching band playing. I stuck my head out the drive-thru window and saw that they put together a PARADE! In honour of yours truly! We all ran outside, customers included, and watched the parade! There were Girl Scouts holding a banner that said "Jessica: Employee Of The Month", clowns on stilts throwing candy AND the mayor of the city sitting in the back of a cute red convertible. When the convertible reached me, the driver stopped and the mayor hopped out of the car and handed me the KEY! The McDonald's corporation is so rich that they decided to give me the car!
My manager told me I didn't have to work today and I could joyride in my sweet new ride. So that's exactly what I did! I jumped in the car and drove away waving while my fellow employees and customers cheered and chanted my name :)
...
Ok fine, I'm lying.
I didn't win employee of the month yet again even though I've been working there 2 and half solid years!
I didn't drive away in my cute red convertible because I don't even have one and I worked 10 hours today.
Mcdonalds is an insanely rich corporation but for some reason they're cutting hours. I'm lucky I have almost 40 hours this week thanks to a full-timers becoming a grandmother (her new grandchild's name is MILEY. I wish I was making that up).
There really was cake though! Just like I described minus the whole my name being on it thing. I was able to bring home 4 pieces, one for each member of my family. It's delicious. I might eat Jordan's piece.
If you win Employee Of The Moth all you get a ONE free meal coupon and a McDonald's watch. Not even the pin, those bastards.
I did get a card from the managers though because it's 'People Week' at work, thus, why we had a cake. Kaylee wrote the appreciation part on mine. 'Jessica, I appreciate the Jonas Brothers and your positive attitude." Nope, not making that up, that what she really wrote.
Alright, I work another 8 hours tomorrow. Pray I don't fall asleep in the fries or get an ear-ache from the drive-thru headset OR get some type of foot disorder from being on my feet all day, everyday, in extremely uncomfortable shoes on floors I WISH were carpeted just so my feet didn't hurt as much even though the carpet would be really groos after just 15 minutes.
