Hair Frustration

I'm a natural blonde and one of my goals on my Bucket List is to dye my hair brown (even if I eventually go back blonde). Lately I've really wanted to change my hair because I'm so bored with it so I said to my mom that I was thinking of dying my hair brown. Here's how the conversation went:

Me: So I'm seriously considering dying my hair brown
Mom: No, no, no
Me: What? Why?
Mom: Because, you're a blonde and brown will look terrible on you
Me: Huh, no it wo-
Mom: No, you're a blonde. Your skin is too light, it just won't look good
Me: What about Alexis Bledel? She's as pale as I am and-
Mom: No, you're not dying your hair. Stop being ridiculous.
Me: It's MY hair and it's not like I'm wanting to dye it black
Mom: Black, brown, it's the same to me
Me: It's not the same! Brown and black are different. And I wouldn't be dying it dark brown, I'd-
Mom: No, no, no just stop being so ridiculous
Me: Ugh, just shut up
Mom: Excuse me? You know what, you're a bitch. You're rude and you're a bitch
Me: Ok, thanks mom. Whatever.

She doesn't ever listen to me or let me explain myself. Just right away "No, just stop". It's absolutely her most annoying quality. Usually when I ask for things I go to my dad because he always listens and hears me out, but I figured he wouldn't care what colour my hair is because it's more of a girly thing. Plus, I didn't think my mom would get so worked up about it, shoot.

And I don't think it would look bad at all. It's not like my hair is light light blonde, it's like a golden blonde. There are plenty of people with pale skin who have brown hair, and like I mentioned before, I'm not dying it black. I'd dye it like a cool-tone brown.

Scarlett Johansson is an example:

See, she looks fine with brown hair and might naturally be a blonde, although I'm not sure.
And what about Mandy Moore? And Brittany Snow, who has very light blonde hair went brown once. And Arielle Kebbel.

Ugh, I just hate how she nixed the idea right when she heard it, she wouldn't give it any thought or let me explain. So lame.

well, I am 18 (soon to be 19, less than a month, yessss) and it is my hair.
