I'm old enough to play the lottery, now I just need to win

*Warning: this blog will be extremely nerdy and to understand any of it, you may have to be a bit tech savvy or a computer geek, like myself.

Remember how I mentioned my laptop's hard drive died? Maybe I didn't mention it. Either way, my laptop's hard drive died. I know, just my luck, right? when I went to Best Buy to see what I did wrong, the guy told me it was just "luck of the draw", that it just happens sometimes. Well, lucky me then!

I was going to buy a new laptop this summer anyways for when I go to college because my current laptop is crap. My mom bought this laptop for my dad two or three Christmas' ago but I sort of just took it over. It's not a good laptop for me though. Only 504 MG of RAM - I know, how crappy.

So I waited almost 3 weeks for my stinking credit card to come in the mail so I can even go buy a new laptop. with 19.6% interest! (RIP OFF, RIP OFF). My credit card FINALLY came on Tuesday.

I went to Best Buy after school today with my dad to get myself a new laptop. I was down to two options - an HP or a Gateway. They were both pretty good, just the Gateway had more RAM and hard drive, so I went with the Gateway.

That's it ^

I talked to the Best Buy worker (her name was Natasha, she was such a sweetheart (: and she liked my shoes!) and she told me about this 3-year warranty thinger and for 3 years, if anything happens with my laptop I can just bring it to Best Buy and they'll fix it for me for free. By the fourth time I come in with a laptop problem they've given me a new laptop! Which sounds pretty good because I've had this laptop for only 2 years and I had 2 problems already.
Also, if I have the Geek Squad set up my laptop for me, they'll take $60 off that warranty and give me Norton Anti-Virus. Still sounds good, right?
ALSO, if I buy the laptop and whatnot with their Best Buy credit card, there will be no interest and I can have a year to pay it off! STILL AWESOME, RIGHT!?

Well, the laptop itself is $799.99
The 3-year warranty (after the $60 off) is $244
The set-up fee (with Norton Anti-Virus) is $99
The credit card (with no interest) is $70
So basically, I'm looking at spending $1200 (before tax, too!)

I'm going to Disney World this April, as well...

Sometimes I wish my dad was the inventor of the Toaster Strudel.
