I Obviously Change My Mind A Lot
I got my prom dress yesterday! And I know what you're probably thinking, 'Oooh, which Greek-goddessy dress did you choose'? Well, the truth is, I didn't even end up getting a Greek goddess dress at all!
But let me tell you this story and you'll understand the fate behind my decision.
On Tuesday I had a doctor's appointment, so my mom and I were on our way to the doctor's. We were driving downtown and my mom said that we're on the same street where she saw that a dress shop was going out of business. We pass the place and she points it out to me and I look over and see MY DRESS!
"MOM! We have to go in! Look at that dress in the window!"
My mom pulls over and we see that they were closed but will be open tomorrow.
*Fast-forward to Wednesday, 4:42pm*
We walk into the shop and the lady tells us that she is moving to Alabama (random, much?) and that she is trying to sell as many dresses as she can so all the dresses are at least 50% off. My mom and I start looking through the racks (btw, this little boutique was so adorable! Pity she has to close) and I tried on 4 dresses that I really liked but none of them fit across my man shoulders. Then I saw it. On the rack. My dress. The dress. The one from the window. So I tried it on and low and behold - it doesn't zip up all the way because of my wide shoulders/rib cage. Ugh, shot down. So My mom gave me this pink, Thumbelina looking one that was really cute and I almost bought.
BUT THEN! I noticed my dress (one size bigger than the one I tried on) was still on the mannequin in the window, so I stood up next to it and asked my mom, "Do you think this would fit across my football field back?" and the lady told me that even if it doesn't, she knows tis seamstress that could make the back like a corset instead of a zipper. Cool idea, right? So I had the lady get the dress from the mannequin for me so I could try it on.
AND GUESS WHAT!
It fit. Like a glove.
No seamstress or adjustments needed.
FATE, OR WHAT!?
I drive by, see this dress in the window. It is my size, fits me perfectly AND ... $200 off. No kidding.
I would post a picture, but frankly, I can't find one online and my camera would just ruin it. So I guess we'll have to wait till after prom to see some pictures (:
